The Royal Courts of Justice, located on the Strand in London, is one of Europe’s largest and most imposing examples of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture. Designed by the prominent architect George Edmund Street, who tragically died from stroke-induced exhaustion before the building's completion, the complex was officially opened by Queen Victoria in 1882.

Its exterior frontage along the Strand features a striking composition of Portland stone ashlar, punctuated by soaring spires, intricate pointed arches, delicate tourelles and an elaborate clock tower. The facade is richly decorated with floral motifs and statues that celebrate English legal and spiritual traditions, projecting an image of unyielding authority and historical continuity.
