CLAPHAM SOUTH STATION, BALHAM HILL SW12
Clapham South Underground station, designed by Charles Holden as part of a series of stations along the Northern Line extension from Kennington to Morden which opened on 13th September, 1926.
It’s a Portland stone astylar corner building with a canted front and three entrances. Holden integrated the roundel into the frontage of his stations so that they would be easily identifiable at street level.
In the mid-1930’s a deco apartment block, Westbury Court, was built over it.

ALTON ESTATE, ROEHAMPTON SW15
Built on a large expanse of parkland on the edge of Richmond Park, the social housing at Alton Estate was a direct translation of Le Corbusier's idea of the Ville Radieuse (or park city) with sets of "point" and "slab" blocks surrounded by the beauty of Richmond Park below.The ‘floating’ slab blocks shown here were heavily influenced by Le Corbusier’s Unité d’Habitation and were completed in 1959. They are now grade II* listed.

The Latin motto set over the entrance to this library in Battersea translates as ‘Not for Me, Not for You, But for Us.’
Designed by Henry Hyams and built in 1924 with the aim to help and assist with the education of its’ young adults, the late Arts and crafts styling demonstrates a rich assemblage of roof profiling, articulation and decorative stone quoining.
